Armchair Mogul
The (backseat) driving force behind Hollywood. Way behind.

Six days ago, we posted a rather unpopular opinion…that Jay Leno wasn’t the bad guy in this Late Night shake up.  Read it HERE.

This affront to popular opinion resulted in a week-long debate both here and at fellow pop culture blog “Culture Kills” between their moderator and our boy Fantasticles.

It’s hard to know if you’re ever right or wrong in situations like this because there’s never a higher authority to turn to for answers in pop culture controversies.  But if there WAS one, I’m pretty sure it would be Oprah Winfrey.

And anyone who caught Oprah today saw that she’s definitely cozied herself right here in the Armchair.  As an industry insider and bona fide media mogul with a couple dozen years of TV experience under her belt, I think it’s safe to say she’s a credible source for clarity when it comes to entertainment matters.

Here’s a link to the post-show wrap up in which O, (who’s unfortunately suffering from a cold) tries to understand the illogical outpouring of antagonism toward Jay Leno, while demonstrating her solidarity with the Armchair by using the exact same arguments we have (and stated almost as eloquently).

I’d be happy to go toe-to-toe with anyone on this issue, but it may be a moot point now.  Partly because the deed’s already been done, but mainly because Oprah has spoken.
